Job Description:
Responsible for planning, direction and management of the toxicology and epidemiology programs of the total organization. the emphasis of the position is the management of the corporate material safety and global regulatory compliance for chemicals used in manufacturing and products.
Major responsiblities focus on scientific assessments and human health risk analyses required to minimize potential liabilities associated with exposure to Xerox branded equipment, chemicals, service, and process materials.
Provide expert knowledge in technical areas of risk assessment including, but not limited to, general and mammalian toxicology, scientific strategies, exposure assessments and regulatory nuances.
Offer expert advice on the interpretation of the technical literature relative to individual chemicals and mixtures and the consequences of exposures.
Guides on issues of immediate concern to Xerox business units and senior management of emerging issues that could impact the company.
The successful candidate will ultimately provide leadership to the management of the personnel in the group, prioritize the issues that must me addressed and is expected to make reccomendation on these issues to the executive management of the organization. Position responsibilities also include all aspects of financial management for toxicology and epidemiology studies.
Requirements:
M.D. or Ph.D. in Toxicology or related field and 10+ years of applied experience OR Masters degree and 15+ years of applied experience
Experience areas must include: management of complex chemical regulatory issues and human health risk assessment (including management of epidemiology studies).
Project management and communication skills are essential
Must be able to demonstrate experience in managing domestic (ie TSCA, HazCom) and international regulations.
