Title:Operations Developer
Reports To:Operations Development Team Manager


Responsibilities:

Develop products for the Operations department to improve automation, accuracy and efficiency.

Participate in all aspects of the development cycle.

Work with Operational groups to understand operational processes.


Position Summary:

The Operations Developer is a unique and key role in the Operations department. Their primary focus is to create and improve the tools that Operations uses to process data for our clients. This allows Operations to become more efficient, reduce errors, and better serve clients.
The projects and requirements for the Operations Development Team (“ODT”) can come from anyone in XLS but will be filtered through the ODT Manager to ensure maximum effectiveness. Operations developers will take part in all phases of the development process with the ODT manager, including identifying a need or operational bottleneck, gathering requirements, initial design and estimates, coding, code review, testing, implementation, feature enhancement and support.
Operations Developers will always be up to date with XLS' existing technology and framework. The team should, where applicable, be coding in line with such systems to promote overall efficiencies and work towards a unified, coherent processing environment.
Other groups in Operations like Complex Analysis and Tech Leads will also be working on script changes and process automation. Operations Developers will help these groups out by being a resource on best practices, standards and technology.


Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field desired.
