Job Description:

TheNOCteam monitors the XLS (Amici) application and XLS systems and networks. Ultimately, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, monitor the application and flag exceptions (e.g., via the real-time app log). Coordinate all critical issues & site outages through clear, concise, & timely communication to the Site Issues list.


Responsibilities:

  • Provides first level support for Site Issues.
  • Identifies and clears blocked databases locks.
  • Ensures that the database, session manager, or web app servers are accepting connections.
  • Removes internal users from the system if the load is too high.
  • Escalates issues to the appropriate team (e.g., DBAs, SysOps, App Developers, etc.) but continues to own the overall resolution of the issue.
  • Documents efficient procedures for timely resolution of Issues and Incidents.
  • Code additional monitoring scripts or tools that augment the overall Monitoring System.
  • Uses best practices in all code development.


    Requirements:

  • Entry level
  • Monitor NOC Console and other alert reporting mechanisms
  • First level response to known Incident types
  • Refer unknown errors/problems to NOC Analyst for guidance or to appropriate operating group at XLS for resolution
  • All members of the NOC Monitoring team should have very strong written & verbal communication skills coupled with a broad understanding of relational databases, linux, PHP, & application development.
